Powers of Faculty

Subject to the provisions of this Act, each faculty shall have the following powers, namely:-(a) to constitute the Committees of Courses and Studies in Departments assigned to it; (b) to recommend to the Academic Council the courses of studies for the different examinations after consulting the Committees of Course and Studies; (c) to recommend to the Academic Council, after consulting the Committees of Courses and Studies, the names of the examiners in subjects assigned to the faculty; (d) to recommend to the Academic Council the conditions for the award of Degrees, Diplomas and other distinctions; (e) to encourage, subject to prior approval of the Academic Council, research in subjects assigned to the faculty; and (f) to deal with any other matter referred to it by the Academic Council.
