The Factories (Arunachal Pradesh Amendment) Act, 2020

Labour20204 sections

This Act amends the central Factories Act of 1948 as applied to the state of Arunachal Pradesh to ease compliance burdens on industrial businesses. It raises the minimum worker threshold required for an establishment to be classified as a factory from ten to twenty workers for units using power, and from twenty to forty workers for those operating without power. Additionally, it empowers the state government to exempt newly established factories from all or any factory law regulations for up to one thousand days to promote economic activity and job creation. This change aims to encourage industrial growth and small business setup in the state.
