This Act amends the Indian Penal Code and the Code of Criminal Procedure as they apply in Arunachal Pradesh to punish sexual offences against women and children more severely. It adds new offences of rape of a girl under 12 and gang rape of a girl under 12, with harsher punishment, and tightens the penalties for assault, stalking and related offences. It also changes procedure for investigating and trying these offences.
