0. Preamble
THE ARUNACHAL PRADESH (CRIMINAL LAW AMENDMENT) ACT, 1987 (ACT NO. 4 OF 1988) AN ACT further to amend the Criminal Law Amendment Act, 1952, in its application to the State of Arunachal Pradesh. BE it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of Arun- achal Pradesh in thes Thirty-cighth Year of the Republic of India as follows :— 1. (1) This Act may be called the Arunachal Pradesh Short title, (Criminal Law Amendment) Act, 1987. extent and commencement
- (2) It extends to the whole of the State of Aruna- chal Pradesh. (3 It shall come into force at once.
2. Amendment of section 6 (Ccntral Act 46 of 1952)
In the Criminal Law Amendment Act. 1952 (Central Act No.. 46 of 195?) in its application to the State of Arunacbal Pradesh (hereinafter referred to as thc principal Act). for sub-section (2) of seclion 6, the follo*ing sub-section shal[ be substituted, namely :- "(2) A person shall not be qualificd tbr the appointment as a Special Judge under this Act unlcss he is or has bcen (a) a Session Judge or an Additional Scssion Judge or an Assistant Session Judge under the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898. or (b) a Deputy Commissioner of a Distnct preferably with legal background and sufficient judicial experience. "
3. Construction of references of Code of Criminal Procedure (5 of 1898)
ln the principal Act, excent in section 9, referenccs to the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898, shatl be constrtcd as references to the corresponding law for the time being in force in tbe State of Arunachal Pradesh.
