The Andhra Pradesh Universities Acts (Amendment) Act, 2011

1. (1) This Act may be called the Andhra Pradesh Universities Acts (Amendment) Act, 2011.
2. (2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on and from the 26th October, 2010.

In Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University Act, 1982, in section 10, in sub-section (1), after item (iii), for the existing paragraph, the following shall be substituted, namely:– “The search committee shall submit a panel of three persons to the Government in alphabetical order and the Government shall forward the said panel to the Chancellor, who shall appoint the Vice-Chancellor, from out of the said panel.”.

In Sri Padmavathi Mahila Viswa Vidyalayam (Women’s University) Act, 1983, in section 10, in sub- section (1), after item (iii), for the existing paragraph, the following shall be substituted, namely:– “The search committee shall submit a panel of three women to the Government in alphabetical order and the Government shall forward the said panel to the Chancellor, who shall appoint Vice-Chancellor, from out of the said panel.”.

In Sri Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University Act, 1985, in section 10, in sub-section (1), after item (iii), for the existing paragraph, the following shall be substituted, namely:– “The search committee shall submit a panel of three persons to the Government in alphabetical order and the Government shall forward the said panel to the Chancellor, who shall appoint the Vice-Chancellor, from out of the said panel.”.

In the Andhra Pradesh Universities Act, 1991, in section 11, in sub-section (1), after item (iii), for the existing paragraph, the following shall be substituted, namely:– “The search committee shall submit a panel of three persons to the Government in alphabetical order and the Government shall forward the said panel to the Chancellor, who shall appoint Vice-Chancellor, from out of the said panel.”.

In the Dravidian University Act, 1997, in section 11, in sub-section (1), after item (iii), for the existing paragraph, the following shall be substituted, namely:– “The search committee shall submit a panel of three persons to the Government in alphabetical order and the Government shall forward the said panel to the Chancellor, who shall appoint the Vice-Chancellor, from out of the said panel.”.

In Jawaherlal Nehru Technological Universities Act, 2008, in the Schedule-I, under the heading “Officers of the University” in clause 1, in sub-caluse (1), after item (iii), for the existing paragraph the following shall be substituted, namely:– “The search committee shall submit a panel of three persons to the Government in alphabetical order and the Government shall forward the said panel to the Chancellor, who shall appoint the Vice-Chancellor, from out of the said panel.”.

In Jawaherlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University Act, 2008, in the Schedule, under the heading “Officers of the University” in clause 1, in sub-caluse (1), after item (iii), for the existing paragraph the following shall be substituted, namely:– “The search committee shall submit a panel of three persons to the Government in alphabetical order and the Government shall forward the said panel to the Chancellor, who shall appoint the Vice-Chancellor, from out of the said panel.”.

The Andhra Pradesh Universities Acts (Amendment) Ordinance, 2010 is hereby repealed.
