The Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement (Andhra Pradesh Amendment) Act, 2018

This Act amends the Central land acquisition law of 2013 as it applies in Andhra Pradesh. It exempts certain categories of projects from Chapters II and III of that law, which deal with social impact assessment and safeguarding food security. It also narrows when old acquisitions lapse: this now happens only where the award was made five years or more before the new law began, and periods lost to court stays do not count. It also changes provisions on offences and related matters.
