The University

(1) There shall be constituted in and for the State of Andhra Pradesh a University by the name of the Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University which shall consist of a Chancellor, a Vice Chancellor, a Rector, if any, a Executive Council and an Academic Senate. (2) The headquarters of the University shall be at such place in the State as may be notified by the Government and it may establish campuses at such other places within the State as it may deem fit. (3) The University shall be a teaching residential and affiliating University. (4) The University shall be a body corporate, having perpetual succession and a common seal and shall sue and be sued by the said Corporate name. (5) No institution affiliated to, or associated with or recognised or maintained by, any other University in the State shall be affiliated to or associated with or recognised by the University for any purpose, except with the prior approval of the Government and the concerned University and the management of the institution concerned.
