Functions of the Commission

Functions of the Commission. -

1. (1) The Commission shall perform all or any of the following functions, namely: -
   • (a) to examine requests for inclusion of any class of citizens as a backward class in the lists and hear complaints of under-inclusion or over-inclusion of any backward class and tender such advice to the Government as it deems appropriate;
   • (b) to tender advice to the Government as and when required by the Government;
   • (c) to exercise such other functions as may be prescribed.
2. (2) The advice of the Commission shall ordinarily be binding upon the Government.
