Andhra Pradesh State Handloom Weavers' Co-operative Society (Formation) Act, 1976
The Andhra Pradesh State Handloom Weavers' Co-operative Society (Formation) Act, 1976
The Andhra Pradesh State Handloom Weavers' Co-operative Society (Formation) Act, 1976 provides for the merger of three regional handloom weaver societies in Andhra Pradesh into one unified state-level cooperative society. Applying to handloom weaver cooperatives, their management, and employees across the state, the law automatically transfers all assets, liabilities, operations, and personnel to the newly formed central body. Vested with government-appointed committee management and overriding conflicting provisions of existing cooperative laws, this Act matters because it streamlined handloom administration, created a unified support system for weavers, and strengthened the state's traditional handloom sector economy.
