SRI VENKATESWARA VEDIC UNIVERSITY ACT, 2006
Sri Venkateswara Vedic University Act, 2006
The Sri Venkateswara Vedic University Act, 2006 establishes a specialized university in Andhra Pradesh dedicated to the study, research, and preservation of Vedic scriptures, Sanskrit literature, and allied ancient Indian disciplines. Applying across the entire state, the legislation sets up the university's governance structure, including key officers and governing councils. It ensures that admissions remain open to all individuals regardless of religion, race, caste, sex, or birthplace. This Act matters because it creates a formal legal and academic framework to preserve traditional Vedic wisdom, integrate it with modern higher education, and promote structured cultural research.
