Andhra Pradesh Sports Authorities Act, 1988
The Andhra Pradesh Sports Authorities Act, 1988
The Andhra Pradesh Sports Authorities Act, 1988 establishes a structured legal framework for promoting sports and games across Andhra Pradesh. It mandates the creation of dedicated Sports Authorities at the state, district, and mandal levels, outlining their governing structures, executive leadership, and administrative powers. The law facilitates the transfer of properties from existing sports councils to these new statutory authorities, regulating how sports facilities, policies, and local events are managed. This legislation matters because it provides a centralized and organized system to foster athletic talent, upgrade infrastructure, and systematically encourage sports participation for citizens throughout the state.
