Constitution of Mandal Education Committees

Constitution of Mandal Education Committees:

1. (1) There shall be constituted for every Mandal, a Mandal Education Committee.
2. (2) The Mandal Education Committee shall consist of the following members, namely:
   • (a) The Mandal Parishad President shall be the Chairperson;
   • (b) The Mandal Educational Officer shall be the Convener;
   • (c) All the Chairpersons of the School Education Committees of the schools within the jurisdiction of the Mandal;
   • (d) Two women members to be co-opted by the committee from among the parents of the children studying in the schools within the Mandal;
   • (e) One person belonging to Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes to be co-opted by the committee;
   • (f) The Mandal Development Officer.
3. (3) The term of office of the members of the Mandal Education Committee, other than the ex-officio members, shall be three years from the date of their co-option.
