Andhra Pradesh Scheduled Castes (Rationalisation of Reservations) Act, 2000

General20009 sections

The Andhra Pradesh Scheduled Castes (Rationalisation of Reservations) Act, 2000 distributes reservation benefits among different Scheduled Caste groups within Andhra Pradesh to ensure fair and equitable access to state government jobs and educational admissions. It applies to state-level public service recruitments and educational institutions, including ongoing selection processes that were incomplete when the law took effect. Central government services and institutions are explicitly excluded from its scope. By sub-categorizing reservations without altering the official list of Scheduled Castes, the law matters because it ensures that all sub-groups receive balanced opportunities in state administration and education.
