The Andhra Pradesh Medical Practitioners Registration (Amendment) Act, 2018

Short title and commencement:

1. (1) This Act may be called the Andhra Pradesh Medical Practitioners Registration (Amendment) Act, 2018.
2. (2) It shall be deemed to have come into force with effect from the 10th January, 2018.

Amendment of section 2: In the Andhra Pradesh Medical Practitioners Registration Act, 1968, (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), in section 2, in sub-section (1), for clause (c), the following shall be substituted, namely:

1. (c) "Medical Practitioner" means a person who holds a qualification in Modern Medicine, or Indian Systems of Medicine, or Homoeopathy, and is registered in the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained under this Act or under the laws for the time being in force in respect of the respective systems of medicine and includes a person who is qualified to practice, Modern Medicine or Indian Systems of Medicine or Homoeopathy and whose name is for the time being borne on the register of any Medical Council or Board or Authority as the case may be.

-1 3. Amendment of section 6. - In the Andhra Pradesh Medical Practitioners Registration Act, 1968, in section 6, in sub-section (1), for the words "one thousand rupees", the words "five thousand rupees" shall be substituted.
