The Andhra Pradesh Domestic, Irrigation and Industrial Water Grid Pipelines (Acquisition of Right of User in Land) Act, 2018
Infrastructure201820 sections
This Act regulates how the government of Andhra Pradesh acquires the right to lay water pipelines under private land for domestic, irrigation, and industrial use. It applies to government agencies, utility corporations, and all landowners across the state. This legislation matters because it enables the efficient development of crucial public water infrastructure while protecting private property owners. Although affected landowners cannot construct buildings or plant trees over the buried pipelines, they are legally entitled to receive monetary compensation for any property damage, along with an additional payment equal to ten percent of their land's market value for the acquired usage rights.
