Andhra Pradesh District Planning Committees Act, 2005
Andhra Pradesh District Planning Committees Act, 2005
The Andhra Pradesh District Planning Committees Act, 2005 provides for the constitution of District Planning Committees across every district in Andhra Pradesh to consolidate development plans from rural and urban local bodies. It mandates Gram Panchayats, Municipalities, and Parishads to prepare annual development plans incorporating revenue, state funds, human development, and disaster management initiatives. The Committee, composed of local representatives and key officials like the District Collector, merges these individual plans into a unified draft District Development Plan. This law ensures decentralized governance, equitable resource allocation, and coordinated infrastructure growth tailored to local civic needs.
