The Andhra Pradesh Co-Operative Societies (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1995
The Andhra Pradesh Co-Operative Societies (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1995 was enacted to temporarily postpone elections across cooperative societies in Andhra Pradesh. Applying to all cooperative societies, members, and governing bodies in the state, the legislation allowed the government to defer election schedules and appoint Special Officers to manage operations. It mandated that existing persons-in-charge vacate office while ensuring smooth administration, with all management costs and officer remuneration funded by the societies themselves. This law provided a temporary framework for administrative continuity during delayed elections and formally repealed a previous emergency ordinance.
