The Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University (Amendment) Act, 1992

Short title and commencement.—

1. (1) This Act may be called the Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University (Amendment) Act, 1992.
2. (2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 21st May, 1992.

Amendment of Section 2.— In the Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University Act, 1963 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), in Section 2,—

1. (i) for clause (a), the following clause shall be substituted, namely:—

1. (a) "Academic Council" means the Academic Council of the University;
   • (ii) for clause (b), the following clause shall be substituted, namely:—
2. (b) "Agriculture" includes basic and applied sciences, animal husbandry, dairy science, fisheries, forestry, horticulture, home science, veterinary science and their allied disciplines;
   • (iii) for clause (c), the following clause shall be substituted, namely:—
3. (c) "Board" means the Board of Management of the University;
   • (iv) for clause (e), the following clause shall be substituted, namely:—
4. (e) "Extension" means the educational activities concerned with the training of farmers, farm women, youth and other rural people and other programmes of district level and state level in agriculture and allied fields;
   • (v) for clause (f), the following clause shall be substituted, namely:—
5. (f) "Faculty" means a Faculty of the University;
   • (vi) for clause (g), the following clause shall be substituted, namely:—
6. (g) "Governor" means the Governor of Andhra Pradesh;
   • (vii) for clause (k), the following clause shall be substituted, namely:—
7. (k) "Teacher" includes Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, Research Associate and any other person appointed for giving instruction or maintaining discipline or guiding research or imparting extension education in the University;
   • (viii) for clause (l), the following clause shall be substituted, namely:—
8. (l) "University" means the Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University established under Section 3.
