Bare Act
The Industrial Disputes (Andaman and Nicobar Islands) Amendment Regulation, 2025
This Regulation amends the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947, and existing local regulations within the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. It redefines the State Government as the Administrator and extends strike notice requirements to 60 days for all industrial establishments. It raises the threshold for government permission for layoffs and retrenchment to 300 workmen. The Regulation also adjusts working hours, rest intervals, and registration fees for establishments. Furthermore, it updates provisions regarding the employment of women and young persons at night, allowing flexibility with safety measures. These changes impact labor relations, operational compliance for employers, and employment conditions for workers in the territory.
