Chapter I PRELIMINARY

1. This Act may be called the [Tamil Nadu Co-operative Land Development Banks Act], 1934

2. It extends to the whole of the [State of Tamil Nadu]

3. In this Act, unless there is anything repugnant in the subject or context,

1. (a) 'Board' means the Board of Directors of the State Land Development Bank;
2. (b) 'State Land Development Bank' means the "Tamil Nadu Co-operative State Land Development Bank, Limited";
3. (c) 'committee' means in relation to the primary land development bank, the Board of Directors, Board of Management or the panchayat or the committee of management or the governing body to whom the management of its affairs is entrusted; [Note: Clauses

5. (f) 'small farmer' means a person owning or cultivating one hectare of land or less;
6. (g) 'Trustee' means the Trustee referred to in section 5
