Chapter I PRELIMINARY

(1) This Act may be called the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Act, 1966. (2) It extends to the whole of the State of Karnataka. (3) This Act except Chapter VII shall come into force at once; Chapter VII shall come into force in such area and from such date as the State Government may, from time to time, by notification, specify in this behalf.

In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,- (1) “amenity” includes road, supply of water or electricity, street lighting, drainage, sewerage, conservancy, and such other convenience, as the State Government may, by notification specify to be an amenity for the purposes of this Act; (2) ‘‘Board’’ means the Industrial Areas Development Board established under this Act;
