Chapter 2 Amendment to the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Act, 1995

The words "To Provide for Combined Competitive Examination for entrance in graduate level vocational course of the Universities, colleges and Institutions in the state" mentioned in preamble of the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Act, 1995, shall be substituted by the words "To Provide for Combined Competitive Examination for entrance in Diploma/Graduate/Post Graduate level vocational course of the Universities, Colleges and Institutions in the State"

The words "Department" means the department referred to the Rules of Executive Business, Bihar, 1979" mentioned in sub-section-(b) of section-2 of the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Act, 1995, shall be substituted by the words "Department" means the department referred to the Rules of Executive Business, Jharkhand"

The words "Vocational course" means a course in Engineering, Medical Science, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Veterinary Science, Agriculture Science, Fishery, Dairy, Forestry, of the graduate standard and includes any other course of the same nature" mentioned in sub-section-(c) of section-2 of the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Act, 1995, shall be substituted by the words "Vocational course" means a course in Engineering, Polytechnic, Medical Science, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Veterinary Science, Agriculture Science, Fishery, Dairy, Forestry, B.Ed. of the Diploma/Graduate/Post Graduate standard and includes any other course of the same nature as recomended by the Concerned Authority"

The words "University, college and institute" means any University, college and institute managed and maintained by the State Government" mentioned in sub-section-(d) of section-2 of the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Act, 1995, shall be substituted by the words "University, college and institute" means any University, college and institute managed and maintained by the State Government/Private Sector/Public Private Partnership (PPP)"

The words "The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board" mentioned in sub-section-(e), sub-section-(f) of Section-2, section-4 and sub-section-(1), sub-section-(5) of section-13 of the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Act, 1995, shall be substituted by the words "The Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board"

The words "Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in any decision, decree, order of any court or in any Act, rule or circular, the admission in the First year of the graduate standard of Engineering, Medical Science, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Veterinary Science, Agriculture Science, Fishery, Dairy, Forestry, and other courses of same nature shall be made on the basis of the Combined Entrance Competitive Examination" mentioned in sub-section-(1), of Section-3 of the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Act, 1995, shall be substituted by the words "Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in any decision, decree, order of any court or in any Act, rule or circular, the admission in the First year/Lateral entry for Second year of the Diploma/Graduate/Post Graduate standard of Engineering, Polytechnic Medical Science, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Veterinary Science, Agriculture Science, Fishery, Dairy, Forestry, B.Ed. and other courses of same nature as recomended by the Concerned Authority, shall be made on the basis of the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination/All India Competitive Examination or other Examination as decided by the State Government"

The words and figure "Constitution of Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board- The State Government shall constitution the Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board from time to time in the following manner:-

(i) Member, Board of Revenue, Bihar - Chairman (ii) Maximum two officers of the rank of Commissioner and Secretary to be nominated by the State Government in Hindi alphabetical order from amongst Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare Department, Agriculture Department, Science and Technology Department, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Department and Forestry and Environment Department. - Member (iii) Maximum two State level Head of the Department to be nominated by the State Government in Hindi alphabetical order from amongst Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare Department, Agriculture Department, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Department and Forest and Environment Department.. - Member (iv) A Principal to be nominated by the State Government in Hindi alphabetical order from the Medical Colleges. - Member (v) A Principal to be nominated by the State Government in Hindi alphabetical order from the Government Engineering Colleges - Member (vi) A Principal/Director to be nominated by the State Government in Hindi alphabetical order from the Principals of Colleges of Agriculture, Fisheries, Veterinary and Animal Husbandry, Agricultural Engineering and Forestry and the Director of the Institute of Sanjay Gandhi Dairy Technology - Member (vii) Director, Development of Science & Technology - Member Secretary mentioned in Section-5 of the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Act, 1995, shall be substituted by the following words and figure "Constitution of Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board- The State Government shall constitute the combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board from time to time in the following manner:- (i) Member, Board of Revenue, Jharkhand - Chairman (ii) Maximum two officers of the rank of Addl. Chief Secretary/Principal Secretary/Secretary to be nominated by the State Government in Hindi alphabetical order from amongst Dept. of Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare, Dept. of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Co-operative, Dept. of Higher, Technical Education and Skill Development, Dept. of Forest, Environment and Climate Change, Dept. of Labour, Employment & Training And Department of Industry. - Member (iii) Maximum two State Head of the Department to be nominated by the State Government in Hindi alphabetical order from amongst Dept. of Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare, Dept. of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Co- - Member

(iv) A Principal/Director to be nominated by the State Government in Hindi alphabetical order from the Medical Colleges. - Member (v) A Principal / Director to be nominated by the State Government in Hindi alphabetical order from the University/Government Engineering/Government Polytechnic Colleges - Member (vi) A Principal/Director to be nominated by the State Government in Hindi alphabetical order from the Principals/Director of Colleges of Agriculture, Fisheries, Veterinary and Animal Husbandry, Agricultural Engineering and Forestry - Member (vii) Director, Technical Education Directorate (Department of Higher, Technical Education and Skill Development.) - Member Secretary"

The words "To conduct the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination" mentioned in sub-section-(i) of section-6 of the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Act, 1995, shall be substituted by the words "To conduct the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination"

In section-6 of the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Act, 1995, a new sub-section (x) shall be inserted as follows:

(x) "To decide policy and mode of admission process"

The words "The setting of the question papers and printing of the question papers and answer books" mentioned in sub-section-(a) of section-8 of the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Act, 1995, shall be substituted by the words "The setting of the question papers and printing of the question papers, answer books and Optical Mark Recognition Sheets"

The words "Despatch and receipt of question papers/answer books to and from the examination centres and their coding and decoding" mentioned in sub-section-(d) of section-8 of the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Act, 1995, shall be substituted by the words "Despatch and receipt of question papers/answer books/Optical Mark Recognition Sheets to and from the examination centres and their coding and decoding"

The words "Evaluation of answer books" mentioned in sub-section-(e) of section-8 of the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Act, 1995, shall be substituted by the words "Evaluation of answer books/Optical Mark Recognition Sheets"

The words "Safe Custody of answer books" mentioned in sub-section-(h) of section-8 of the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Act, 1995, shall be substituted by the words "Safe Custody of answer books/Optical Mark Recognition Sheets /DigitalData"

The words "Combined Entrance Competitive Examination" mentioned in section-9 of the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Act, 1995, shall be substituted by the words "The Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination/All India Competitive Examination or other Examination as decided by the State Government"

The words "Accontant-General, Bihar" mentioned in sub-section-(1) and sub-section-(3) of section-14 of the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Act, 1995, shall be substituted by the words "Accontant-General, Jharkhand"

The words "Safe Custody of Answer Books-The Answer books of the Combined Entrance Competitive Examinations shall be kept in safe custody for a period of one year from the date of declaration of the result" mentioned in Section-16 of the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Act, 1995, shall be substituted by the words "Safe Custody of Answer Books@Optical Mark Recognition Sheet@Digital Data&The Answer books@Optical Mark Recognition Sheet of the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination/All India Competitive Examination or other Examination as decided by the State Government shall be kept in safe custody for a period of one year from the date of declaration of the result and the Digital Data be kept in safe custody for a period of five years "
