Chapter I PRELIMINARY

(1) This Act may be called the Andhra Pradesh Infrastructure Development Corporation Act, 1998. (2) It shall extend to the whole of the State of Andhra Pradesh. (3) It shall be deemed to have come into force with effect from the 14th September, 1998.

In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,-(a) “Corporation” means the Andhra Pradesh Infrastructure Development Corporation established under section 3; (b) “Government” means the State Government of Andhra Pradesh; (c) “Local Authority” means,-- (i) a Municipal Corporation constituted under any law relating to Municipal Corporations for the time being in force; (ii) a Municipality or a notified Area Committee, constituted under the Andhra Pradesh Municipalities Act, 1965(Act VI of 1995); (iii) a Gram Panchayat, a Mandal Parishad or a Zilla Parishad, constituted under the Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act, 1994 (Act 13 of 1994); (d) “Notification” means a notification published in the Andhra Pradesh Gazette; and the word “notified” shall be construed accordingly; (e) “Prescribed” means prescribed by rules made under this Act; (f) “Regulations” means the regulations made under this Act.
